Whenever I see screenshots of user desktops’ I always wonder what one of the icons in the system tray is…. well mine are all pretty obvious. That is the desktop sidebar with itunes, stock and rss panel on the right and I have process explorer and avast anti-virus running in the system tray.
Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com is awesome. It kills processes way better than Task Manager and also shows a lot more details. It is a complete replacement for task manager. There is an option which allows you to start process explorer instead of Task Manager when you hit Ctrl+Alt+Del or right click on the Task bar and choose Task Manager. It is also highly customizable.
